This Week's Picks - Lack of Color, LOVESTITCH, Gentle Fawn

*!!!Exciting News!!!*

For those of you who have been patiently waiting, the wait is finally over, because new “Lack Of Color” hats have officially arrived at Miss Boss! If you are currently on our waitlist then you would have heard from us by now to allow you first dibs, because we know that these hats are a hot commodity and sell out FAST!!!

*FUN FACT…Did you know that Miss Boss is the only store in Edmonton that carries this beautiful brand?!?! I may be biased, but I think these hats are next level when it comes to quality and style. If you have never heard of this brand, I highly recommend coming into the store to try them on, you may be surprised by how you can completely change up your look by simply adding a hat. We carry all styles in two different sizes, 55 which is a small, and 57 which is a medium. This week on our stories we featured three new styles, BUT rumour has it that we received even more since we shot the content for This Week’s Picks, so go check out our online store (missboss.ca) to see the full lineup! There may just even be a pink one that I am completely, whole heartedly, OBSESSED with!!

If you are searching for something that is a little more everyday friendly and in a neutral color, then you are going to love the 3 styles we featured this week. First up is “The Jethro”, it retails for $110 and I would consider it to be your classic “go-to” black wide brimmed wool hat that goes with everything and suites most face shapes. Next is the “Zulu” which is essentially the same style of hat but in a cream colour, and it also retails for $110. Last but not least, the “Ivory Rancher”-$169, which is inspired by vintage men’s style and is definitely more of a statement piece with its structured large brim and beautiful light gold bow ribbon detail!! Keep in mind if you have purchased a LOC hat before this particular style does fit slightly larger, so if you are in between sizes I recommend sizing down.

LOVESTITCH

Now that we have all upped our wardrobe game with some killer hats, it’s time to talk about a few “restock” items from Lovestitch that were just so popular and sold out incredibly fast, we had no choice but to bring them back for round two!! Not to mention it’s always super exciting when an item that you really wanted to buy is included in that restock! For me, that was this gorgeous “Plaid Coatigan”-$165 because not only is it incredibly comfy, but it’s also super stylish and great for almost any occasion! The material is super stretchy, and unlike a lot of my other jackets I don’t feel restricted in it, AND it’s thin enough that if it’s super cold outside you could still fit a longer winter jacket over top of it.

The next restocked item was the “Cloud Tie Dye Top”-$99! This oversized sweater is the perfect combination of neutral colours and looks great paired with denim, ankle boots, and a bomber style jacket, or with lulus, sneakers, and a baseball cap for a more athleisure look. You know we love our comfy, casual pieces at Miss Boss and this one is no exception!

OK, we are all familiar with this last restocked item, and that’s the “Lingerie Lace Tanks”!!! Honestly these are a must have item in everyone’s closet, whether you prefer to wear them on their own, or as an elevated layering piece! One of my favourite ways to wear this tank out to dinner or for a girls night out would be to pair it with high-rise denim (slightly tucked in of course), a leather jacket, and a killer pair of heels! Obviously at 9 months pregnant this is not something I am currently able to wear, but you better believe that I will be rocking this look on repeat post baby and may or may not have started a post baby collection of these gorgeous tanks! Lastly, I wanted to mention that they are such a great price point compared to a lot of other similar camis in various brands. These “Lingerie Lace Tanks” retail for just $79 and are available in several different solid colours and animal print patterns!

Speaking of animal print, we also received one other item that we have not had in store before, but I know it is going to be one of those items that won’t be around for long BECAUSE it’s animal print, and if you haven’t noticed there is a huge animal print craze going on right now! WE JUST CANT GET ENOUGH, and neither can all of you!!! Its fuzzy, it’s neutral, it’s the perfect length, and it will be the perfect way to spice up a neutral/ plain outfit! The “Lux Leopard Cardigan” is available in two sizes, Small/Medium and Medium/Large, and retails for $150.

Gentle Fawn

Of course with it being sweater weather season and all, this blog post just wouldn’t be complete without sharing some of the fabulous new pieces from Gentle Fawn! Gentle Fawn is one of those brands that everyone knows about and loves, not only for their on trend and great quality pieces, but also because the price point is generally very reasonable when it comes to boutique shopping. Then of course there are their signature pieces, such as the “Tucker Sweater” that they have (in my opinion) perfected and continue to bring back each season in new colours. If you are not familiar with the “Tucker Sweater” I highly recommend that you check it out because it’s basically the perfectly designed sweater that is great on all body types and can easily be dressed up or dressed down. In our most recent shipment we received it in a rich spruce colour that is perfect for this time of year and it retails for only $84!!!

I should mention that we are majorly crushing on all the green colours this season, and Gentle Fawn really nailed it, especially with this next sweater! Any time I can find a basic piece with a twist, I am all over it. The “Bellatrix Sweater”-$99 is your typical chunky knit, but with a little sparkle/ gold flecks of fabric throughout. It’s kind of hard to explain, but I can promise you it is so, so pretty and will be perfect for the holiday season.

The last piece I have to share today is the incredibly soft “Vespa Sweater”-$148 in Emerald. I noticed that the model on the Gentle Fawn website is rocking this sweater tucked into a leather skirt and some black strappy heels and I just think it’s such a good representation of how you can really elevate a basic piece by pairing it with the right items! Of course if leather isn’t your thing, why not try wearing this sweater over a collared button up shirt with a pair of black dress pants and heels! If you are not familiar with styling a sweater over a button up, just make sure that you are folding the collar of the shirt over top of the sweater and for a little extra fun cuff the sleeves to add a little extra pattern or pop of colour to your look. You could also pair this with a skirt instead of dress pants or your favourite denim!

Well that wraps up this week’s post, but don’t forget to check out our online store, or stop by Miss Boss because there is always SOOO much more new arrivals than what we can feature each week, and I would hate for any of you to miss out on that one item that you have been waiting for just because you didn’t see it on our blog or social media!

***OH, and for the next few days from October 25th-October 31st we are celebrating Halloween by making the entire store 10% off when you mention promo code “SPOOKY” to the cashier or by entering this code online during checkout! Who ever said that Halloween was just for the kiddos?!?! HAPPY SHOPPING!!!***
