COZY KNITS AND CANDLES

With the cooler weather upon us, who doesn’t love tossing on a cozy sweater or cardigan, curling up in a blanket, and listening to their favourite candle crackling in the background??? This may or may not be my current situation as I sit here writing this blog post.  Now the only thing that would make this scenario even better, would be pouring myself a hefty glass of Cabernet Sauvignon (only 2.5 more weeks to go!!!) …but until then, I will continue to indulge in all the pumpkin spice lattes. If I haven’t given it away already, This Week’s Picks are all about knits, cardigans, a fabulous puffer style jacket, and of course our favourite Coal And Canary candles!!

I know it may seem crazy for me to even go here, but I am going to say it…Christmas shopping anyone?!?! I know, I know, but trust me when I say you are going to want to get your hands on these amazing candle sets that we just received from Coal And Canary, because they make the most amazing gifts!! I mean, I’m all for showering yourself with gifts as well, so hey, buy the set and then split them up and use them for stocking stuffers, and while you’re at it, feel free to keep one or two for yourself!

This year we received two different box sets, the “Cabin Collection”-$50 and the “Sweater Weather Collection”-$50, each box featuring 5 x 3oz candles, however if you aren’t into the box sets and prefer individual candles, most of the candles are also available in the traditional 8oz size! Now we also received something that I am SUPER excited about and that’s the special addition 16oz, 3 wick candles in “Cable Knit Scarf”, “Chunky Knit Sweater”, “Gimme Some Sugar”, “The Cider Made Me Do It”, and “Warm Wooly Mittens”. These candles are so beautiful with their copper metallic casing, and not only do they smell unbelievable, but they also make a great décor piece!

If you are newer to the Blog or to Coal And Canary Candles in general, then get ready because you are about to jump on a wagon that you will most likely never get off of! There is just something so soothing about the soft crackling sound the wooden wicks make when lit, and of course I love the fact that these hand-poured candles are made in small batches using the highest quality soy and vegetable wax blend. The 8oz candles retail for $30 and have an approximate burn time of 50 hours, and the newest addition 16oz candles retail for $45 and have a burn time of approximately 100 hours!! Basically what I am trying to say is you 100 percent get your money’s worth, so go ahead and stock up for the holiday season!

Now that we all have a head start on our Christmas shopping, or at least some good ideas in the works, it’s time to talk fashion! Lately I have been dying over all of the new items from Lovestitch, and I swear they just keep coming. Is it possible that each shipment gets better than the last??? I feel like this brand just gets me and my style, and for the sake of my shopaholic tendencies I’m hoping that I somehow magically dislike everything in the next shipment, because this is becoming a MAJOR problem LOL!

First up is the gorgeous “Allie Striped Sweater” that both Sabrina and I wore in our try-ons this week! Whether you are rocking a 9 month baby bump or not, this sweater is just so cute and cozy. As you can see, it’s available in two different colour ways, ivory and rose, and retails for $125. I would style this sweater with a pair of high rise skinny jeans in either blue or black, a pair of camel/light brown over the knee boots, and finish it off by accessorizing with a wool wide brimmed hat.

This next item is the perfect addition to any fall/ winter wardrobe, especially if you are in need of a cozy cardigan that can easily be dressed up or down and worn for many different occasions. I think it’s important to have a variety of sweaters, cardigans, and jackets in your wardrobe because these are the items that really pull your outfit together. When it comes to your layering pieces you can often get away with spending a little less, and that way you can splurge on those investment pieces that really make a statement. Another thing to keep in mind is neutral colours provide a lot of versatility, however I do like adding colour to my wardrobe, so in that case look for things that have multiple colours in them because it automatically gives you an assortment of colours that work well together helping you to select the rest of your outfit.

The “Lennon Cardigan”-$115 is a perfect example of an item that gives you a wonderful colour palette to work with when creating an overall outfit. Try incorporating different shades of cream, taupe, brown, mustard, and whites to create different looks. You could easily wear this to the office over a blouse and tube skirt, or with a basic t shirt dress and ankle boots. If you prefer to wear this more “casual”, simply toss on a basic tee, a pair of jeans, and your go to flats.

The last piece we received from Lovestitch was the “Wendy Bib Front Blouse”-$89, which would be perfect for the working gals who need to get a little more dressed up! I love that it’s dressy but not structured or restricting, and of course the classic floral print makes it timeless so you should be able to wear this year after year.

***ATTENTION*** All my fashionistas out there, this one is for you!!

I mentioned earlier that it was time to talk fashion…but now we are REALLY going to talk fashion, because this next piece is a major statement! Of course if you are into current trends then you know that puffer jackets have been all the rage the past few winter seasons, but what about if you could have one that was bright red!! I can’t even explain how funky and fun this jacket is because I feel like the pictures speak for themselves, so scroll on down and check this beauty out! I know it won’t be for everyone, but like I said, If you like to make a statement this jacket is for you!!

*Stayed tuned for more new arrivals this week, including a little something that everyone has been waiting for! That’s right, new hats from “Lack Of Color” are hitting the shelves at Miss Boss this week and they are going to go FAST!!! All styles will be available both in store and online so go check them out!*
