This Week's Picks - Baby News, Z Supply, David Lerner

Well this week’s blog post is an exciting and much anticipated one for me, as we finally revealed this week on our Instagram stories that I am pregnant!! SURPRISE!!! I have been dying to share this news so that we could finally start “styling the bump” rather than trying to “disguise the bump” lol! It’s not that we were purposely trying to wait this long, but between the summer sales, and guests appearances it kind of just worked out that way, but now that the cat is out of the bag, it’s time to have some fun with it! Just from working in the store, I often notice that a lot you are also pregnant and I thought it would be so fun to show how you too can rock these pieces whether your pregnant or not. I mean, who doesn’t want to purchase items that can be worn pre, during, and post baby??? So now that the surprise is out, stay tuned for tons of tips and tricks on how to get those stylish looks no matter what stage of life you are in.

Let’s kick things off with everyone’s favourite…ANIMAL PRINT!! I would be lying if I said I wasn’t obsessed with these new tees we received from Z Supply, because they are literally the perfect way to spice up an outfit while still keeping it fairly neutral. As I am sure you all know this by now, animal print tends to sell out fast, so if you are also obsessing over these, I recommend running, not walking to check these out before they are all gone! The two different prints we received were the “Leopard V Neck Tee” and the “Snakeskin V Neck Tee” in sizes extra small to large. These tees retail for $49, and are available in store and online. In the summer rock this top with a pair of your favourite white pants or denim cut offs, and then transition these tees into fall/winter by pairing them with black denim, a leather jacket, and a killer pair of heels!

Before moving on to the next new arrival, I need to take a second to appreciate how comfy and amazing all the fabrics feel in this shipment from Z Supply. Ladies if you are someone who loves to be comfy while still looking put together, or you search for those items that can allow you to go from at home lounging to out and about running errands without looking like a crazy person…we’ve all been there LOL… then you are going to want to pay close attention to these next few pieces!

The “Rugby Stripe Weekender”- $75 is available in two colour ways, Champagne/Storm which is a blue/cream combination, and my personal favourite, Champagne/Warmwood which is more of a caramel/cream. I love this sweater for a few reasons, one because it’s bump friendly which is a major bonus for all you expecting mamas, but I also love the fact that it is oversized without looking frumpy! This is a great item to pair with leggings for a more relaxed look, or dress it up with a pair of denim and ankle boots moving into fall. A couple things to keep in mind, this sweater does have fairly high slits on the sides, so you may want to toss on a fitted tank or bodysuit underneath, and the other thing to be aware of if purchasing online, is that although it is oversized in the body, the arms do fit more snug so I would recommend sticking with your regular size!

Okay moving on to the Marled Collection! If you don’t know what I am talking about, then you NEED to check these items out because they are the softest most comfy items ever! I seriously live in my “Marled Joggers”-$65, and now there is a matching cardigan!!! I AM SOOOOO EXCITED!!! Obviously so is everyone else, because unfortunately we are already almost sold out. I believe we have two mediums left in stock at the moment! The “Marled Cocoon Cardigan” retails for $89 and when paired with the joggers makes the most perfect travel/ athleisure look!

If you end up missing out on the “Marled Cocoon Cardigan” don’t worry because we also received the “Marled V Neck Tunic”-$75 which is the exact same cozy soft goodness! This sweater is available in two colours (mesa red & storm) and once again, these are a perfect fit whether you are pregnant or not. The longer cut of this sweater would allow you to pair with your maternity jeans, and I’m not going to lie that makes me SOOO happy, because with everything being so cropped right now (which you all know I love and think is such a flattering fit with high-waisted pants) it makes finding tops that actually cover the stretchy part of your maternity jeans impossible without going to a maternity specific top!

That basically wraps up the new arrivals from Z Supply, but we still have our newest shipment from David Lerner to cover and OH-M-GEE is all I have to say! Part of me is sad that we are already receiving fall items, because let’s be honest we haven’t even really had summer yet…BUT I know I’m not alone when I say Fall fashion is my fav!!! There is just something that gets me so excited about cardigans, jackets, and sweaters and trust me when I say the arrivals coming your way this Fall are unreal! I get excited just thinking about it!!!

This first item is for all you pink lovers out there! If you know me, then you know I have always, and will always love pink, so this matching sweatsuit is basically what dreams are made of! If I could insert emojis into this blog post, there would be about 1 million heart eye emojis to show you just how I feel about these items!!! The “Block Crop Hoodie”-$159 and “Block Cuffed Jogger”-$159 obviously look so cute paired together with a pair of sneakers, but both of these also look great styled separately so don’t feel like you need to have the entire set if that isn’t your style.

Another thing that has been trending the past couple years, but is still going strong is graphic tees and sweaters and I can honestly say I go through phases where I am all in and then times where I am totally over it, but these next three items have me back on board! The “Angry Mickey Pullover”-$145, and the “LA Stars Pullover”- $145 are very similar styles both being white and cropped, and can be styled in SO many different ways. I know sometimes it can be hard to see an item and then envision how it would look with different outfits so I’m going to give you all a few ideas of how I would personally style these sweaters!

LA Stars - David Lerner

  1. Black lulus, a cute pair of sneakers, and a baseball hat will give you a sporty/ athleisure look that is great for running errands, travel days, etc
  2. Highrise denim (black, any shade of blue, skinny, cigarette, cropped, distressed) basically whatever style you feel best in plus a cute pair of heels, slides, ankle boots, or OTK boots! To change up the look from day to night toss on a leather jacket, and if you are a hat girl then try adding a black Lack of Color hat in whatever style suits you! I personally love the wool ones for this outfit but that’s just my preference!
  3. Black high waisted tube skirt and runners for those “big city living” vibes!

Now this last tee is going to be your best friend prego or not! One of my favourite trends right now for styling the bump is pairing a graphic tee over a fitted dress or bodycon dress and tying it in a knot just above your bump! It is so so cute and it can take a lot of those overly sexy dresses and make them more “wearable” in the daytime! Toss on a denim jacket and leopard slides and you will be looking super chic! The “Friends Polaroid Tee” is perfect for this look and retails for $94! Now if you aren’t expecting then you have the luxury of styling this tee my other favourite way with high rise denim and a simple French tuck! Add a pair of wedges and a suede cropped jacket and you will be ready for the day or night no matter the occasion!
